Chesley man suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

Two men had to be taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in the Township of Chatsworth.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Sunday at around 7:48 p.m., officers responded to the crash involving an SUV on Side Road 7 east of Grey Bruce Line. The vehicle was found on the road with the driver and passenger trapped inside.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Chesley, was unconscious when he was removed from the vehicle and then rushed to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Arran-Elderslie, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
