Local 'Win This Space' contest gets a helping hand

Clinton's "Win This Space" campaign got a little help from the Libro Credit Union Wednesday.

Most of the winners were on hand at the Courthouse Park in Goderich as a cheque for $10,000 was presented to Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn and Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith.

Smith said the money will be used to support the program.

“We are receiving $10,000 for our 'Win This Space' campaign from Libro Credit Union and it's going into the pot of money that we used for the program and the rent and the promotion of all of these new businesses," she said.

The contest had seven winners and four more other businesses re-located to Clinton as a result of the contest, so there will be eleven new storefronts in Clinton's downtown.

Smith said the cheque presentation is just the beginning of the celebration that Central Huron is hosting for all of the new storefronts on Saturday, September 28.

Complete details of that event can be found on the Central Huron website.
