10th Street Bridge closure in Owen Sound is postponed

The planned closure of the 10th Street Bridge in Owen Sound is postponed.

The closure was expected to begin next week, but will now start on Wednesday, October 2.

However, the transit system detours will begin on Monday, September 23.

Several bus stops are temporarily out of service to keep the bus routes on a scheduled structure, and a few temporary stops have been placed to best accommodate the ones removed. Please note that the Crosstown and East Bayshore routes will not be affected.

The Core and Brooke bus routes will be redirected as of Monday, September 23rd, 2019 to bypass the road closure while continuing to service the regular routes.

Starting October 2, the detour routes will include 2nd Avenue West, 3rd Avenue East, 8th Street East and 9th Street East.

Once the project begins, the bridge is expected to remain closed until December of 2020.

The entire $8.68 million project is due to wrap up March 2021
