Intoxicated man found carrying firearm

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a man after an incident involving alcohol, drugs and a concealed firearm.

On Wednesday just after 11 pm, officers were called to a residence just off Highway 21 in Saugeen First Nation for an unwanted person believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The OPP located the man walking on Highway 21 and arrested him for being intoxicated in a public place. A search of the accused located illegal drugs and a concealed firearm.

A 36-year-old man from Saugeen First Nation is facing several charges, including unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm.

He'll appear in Owen Sound court on Tuesday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
