Grand opening this week for Saugeen Shores Police Service

Saugeen Shores Police are preparing for a big event this week.

The official opening of the new Saugeen Shores Police Service station will be held Wednesday, September 25th at 1240 MacKenzie Road.

Members of the public are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 pm Wednesday afternoon. The auxiliary officer will be doing station tours until 6 pm.

Some of the highlights of the new station include: Community service room Offices for Victim Services and Probation and Parole Control access parking for police vehicles Safe Goods exchange area available 24hrs a day Front entrance after hours panic room with direct line to dispatch Multi-purpose room suitable to hold off-site Ontario Police College training Four interview rooms Workout facilities Upgraded IT and phone systems Court Yard area Design allows for expansion of the service Wheel chair accessible throughout

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
