Multiple charges dropped against a Goderich man

Manslaughter charges against a Goderich man have been dropped.

Brandon Weitzel, 28, was charged back in June in connection to the death of a Central Huron man.

Police and paramedics were called to a home on Cut Line Road in Central Huron back on May 26.

David Spies, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weitzel also faced charges of trafficking a substance, three charges of fail to comply with probation and criminal negligence, which were also dropped. He still faces a charge of break and enter.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
