Wellington OPP responded to a collision between two sedans near the hamlet of Inverhaugh on Wellington Road 21 around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
The cars had collided head-on. Police said one of the drivers, 31-year-old James Lumsden, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people in the other sedan were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for six hours while police investigated.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
