OPP search warrant leads to five arrests in Wingham

Five residents of North Huron are facing drug-related charges following an OPP search warrant that was executed in Wingham.

Last Thursday, OPP officers converged on a residence on Frances Street in Wingham with a search warrant.

Police seized illegal drugs including methamphetamine and oxycodone, as well as drug paraphernalia, and two prohibited push dagger knives.

Officers arrested five people on charges of drug trafficking and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

They've been identified as 40-year-old Scott Richardson of Wingham; 26-year-old James Leachman of Wingham; 30-year-old Jamie-Lynn Gilkinson of Wingham; 35-year-old Katie Curtis of Morris-Turnberry; and 24-year-old Jonathan Hakkers of Blyth.

All five were released from custody with court appearances scheduled for later in October and November in Goderich.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
