Water issues for some Owen Sound residents

Some residents in Owen Sound may experience some issues with their tap water today. The City of Owen Sound is undertaking flow testing of various fire hydrants on the west side of the City, primarily north of 10th Street.

Residents in the area may notice a temporary change in pressure, and/or brownish-orange colour in the water. City officials stress it is not a health issue, but just a common consequence of flushing older cast iron watermains. Running your water for a while will clear it up.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Public Works directly at 519-376-4274.
