CFIA expands recall of raw beef and veal products due to possible E. coli contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a recall of raw beef and veal products due to possible E. coli contamination.

The agency said contaminated food items may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick.

Symptoms include nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps. In severe cases seizures, strokes and permanent kidney damage are possible.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by its inspections, but there have been no reported illnesses with the consumption of the recalled products.

A link to all affected products can be found here.
