Federal election signs destroyed in Listowel

OPP are investigating after election signs were destroyed in Listowel.

OPP and the North Perth County detachment responded to a complaint about damaged federal election signs.

Through investigation, police determined that election signs were damaged and some were removed and discarded.

The OPP continue to investigate.

OPP are also reminding citizens that it is possible to be charged with a Criminal Code offence of Mischief for damaging property like an election sign.

Anyone that is convicted of Mischief can face a fine imposed by the court or imprisonment up to 2 years.
