Excavator stolen near Shakespeare found near Hamilton

Perth County OPP tracked an excavator stolen from a property near Shakespeare to Hamilton.

Police said the John Deere 135 rubber track excavator was taken overnight Monday from a rural construction site. It is valued at $200,000.

On Wednesday, the OPP Huron-Perth Street Crime Unit searched a rural residence near Hamilton and recovered the equipment. It was returned to the owner.

The OPP were assisted by the Hamilton Police Service Break and Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery Branch.
