Flu found in two Wellington County children

It appears the flu has crept to the borders of Midwestern Ontario.

Two confirmed cases of the flu have been found in children in Guelph.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health said it is now distributing the flu vaccine to physicians, while pharmacies should receive the vaccine in November.

The most common flu symptoms are fever and cough, but headaches, chills, muscle pains and a sore throat are also common.

Every year, approximately 23,000 Canadians become seriously ill from the flu and require hospitalization.
