Charges laid in Owen Sound drug trafficking investigation

An Owen Sound couple appear in court Friday to face drug Trafficking and Possession charges.

A 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested Thursday at their residence.

Owen Sound Police Service seized highly toxic purple fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and magic mushrooms.

The pair are jointly charged with Possession of Fentanyl and Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Oxycodone and Magic Mushrooms, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. They both have bail hearings Friday.

At the time of her arrest, the accused female was bound by bail conditions from previous charges pertaining to fentanyl that are alleged to have occurred in Owen Sound and other jurisdictions.

Charges related to the seizure of crystal meth are pending against a third man identified in the investigation.
