Local Libro Credit Union donates to hospital oncology department

The Wingham Hospital got a boost courtesy of a significant local donation.

The Wingham Libro Credit Union has donated $6,000 to the Wingham Hospital's Oncology Department, which Libro raised at a BBQ and raffle event in September.

Every year, the Libro owner representatives decide on a local charity or cause to donate to, and they have chosen to support many different initiatives at the Wingham and District Hospital over the last number of years.

Libro Branch Manager Breanne Stafford said donating to improve local healthcare is important.

“Local healthcare and particularly the local oncology department is close to the hearts of so many people in our community," she said. "We’re happy to be able to give back in this way."
