Pedestrian struck by car in Owen Sound

An Owen Sound man was rushed to hospital Tuesday evening after a hit-and-run on 9th Street East.

The man was walking across the intersection at 2nd Avenue around 6 p.m. when he was hit by a car that was turning onto 9th Street. The car slowed down briefly, then left the area.  The 54-year-old pedestrian was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

The vehicle is described as a smaller black or dark-coloured car with a loud muffler and tinted windows. It is possible the trunk may be a different colour than the rest of the vehicle.

One window had a sticker of a deer’s head, similar to the "Browning" logo.

Owen Sound police would like to speak with the driver of this vehicle.  Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information regarding the vehicle is encouraged to contact the Owen Sound Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
