Santa Claus parades coming to local towns

Some local towns will be holding Santa Claus parades over the next two weekends.

The Owen Sound Kiwanis Club will hold their 74th annual Santa Claus parade on Saturday, November 16th.

The Parade will start at 10 am and begins near the intersection of 11th Street East & 2nd Avenue East (Metro Grocery Store), travelling south toward City Hall and turning east (left) at the intersection of 8th Street East and 2nd Avenue East, ending at 3rd Avenue East.

Port Elgin's BIA will also host a Santa Claus parade Saturday, November 23rd at 7 pm, and will run on a revised route on Goderich St., beginning at Elgin St. and proceeding south to Eugenie St.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
