Kincardine Youth succumbs to injuries

A young Kincardine woman has died following a serious collision on Highway 9 in Brant Township.

OPP officers were called to the collision on November 12 at 2:51 pm. An investigation revealed that an eastbound car lost traction and was skidding on the highway when it was struck by a westbound SUV before coming to rest in the ditch.

Denise Turqueza, 17, of Kincardine was a passenger and was rushed to a London hospital to be treated for serious injuries after the crash. However, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on November 16.

The driver of the car, 47-year-old Dennis Turqueza of Kincardine, remains in a London hospital where he's being treated for life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital to have minor injuries assessed.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
