Avon Maitland website provides updates on labour relations

The Avon Maitland District School Board is trying to keep everyone informed about contract negotiations as more staff members give their unions a strike mandate.

A new page on their website will help keep the public up to date on how labour relations are affecting students in local schools.

It is divided by elementary, secondary and community. The site will be updated regularly as changes occur.

The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario represents all contract and occasional teachers. The board's elementary school teachers will take part in “Work to Rule – Phase 1” beginning Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

The action targets Ministry and school board administrative tasks and does not directly impact students. Students are still expected to attend class.
