Hanover native named director of Grey County Economic, Development, Tourism and Culture Department

Grey County has appointed Savanna Myers as director of the new Economic Development, Tourism and Culture Department.

Myers was named the county's first manager of economic development back in 2016.

In 2017, the Hanover native was awarded the Economic Development Council of Ontario's Young Influencer of the Year award for "the positive impact she has on her peers, the community and economic development."

"I think the reason council felt this was an appropriate step to take, really has to do with making the most of all the resources that we have. I'm sure people can understand the synergies between Economic Development, Tourism and Culture," said Grey County Chief Administrative Officer Kim Wingrove. "The amazing thing is that we have three award-winning departments, and an award-winning now-director to lead all of it."

Myers told CKNX that she is excited about the opportunity.

"Working in a unified department allows us to leverage our shared resources and knowledge to grow and enhance the services we provide," she said.
