Huron County Christmas Bureau making a list

The Huron County Christmas Bureau is preparing for the season with an annual effort to ensure a happy holiday for every family in the region.

Any family needing a hand this year is encouraged to call between now and December 6 to set up a confidential appointment at participating locations.

Residents can also drop off gifts of new clothing, gift cards, new toys or money between December 2 and December 6.

Donations can be dropped off at participating churches in Goderich, Clinton, Exeter, Wingham and Seaforth.

Phones are open to make appointments from November 18, 2019, to December 6, 2019, from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
