UPDATE: Suspect arrested following armed robbery in Arthur

Wellington County OPP officers have arrested a suspect in relation to an armed robbery at a business on Main Street in Arthur at 10:53 a.m. on Monday.

The OPP said a firearm was observed during the hold up at Sussman's of Arthur.    Local schools were briefly put on lockdown as a precaution, but the lockdowns were quickly lifted.

An 18-year-old Wellington North man turned himself in at the OPP Teviotdale Detachment at 1:05 p.m. and is now facing numerous charges.

An investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
