Pedestrian hit in Owen Sound

A pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment after walking into the path of a vehicle in Owen Sound.

Police, paramedics, and firefighters were called to the scene just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning on 2nd Avenue East near 9th Street East.

A 28-year-old Allenford woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 16-year-old driver passed a roadside breath test, but allegedly still had alcohol in his system. He was charged accordingly as a novice driver under the zero-tolerance for alcohol rules. He also had his driver's license suspended for 24 hours.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
