Alleged mugger arrested in Hanover

Hanover police have a suspect in custody after an investigation into a mugging downtown.

On Sunday, police officers located a suspicious man in Hanover’s Industrial Park wearing a bandana over his face. The man allegedly had several break-in tools, methamphetamine, ammunition while prohibited and other items in his possession.

The suspect was then charged in connection with the early morning mugging of a resident on September 25. The  30-year-old man of no fixed address is facing 10 charges.

A second male suspect in custody for unrelated crimes is also being charged in connection with that same street robbery investigation.

The investigation remains active and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Hanover Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
