Avon Maitland not among school boards striking in the province on Wednesday

The president of District 8 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation says teachers will be on strike tomorrow at high schools in selected boards around the province, but Avon Maitland is not one of those boards.

Shane Restall said there will be information pickets at every single one of the secondary schools, though.

“So there will be information pickets at every single one of the secondary schools tomorrow if parents and community members would like to go get the update first hand from their educators, they can do that at the end of the school day," he said.

Restall added they don't have any information at this point about future strikes but he's expecting an announcement regarding future strikes by the end of the week. He also pointed out, if there's an agreement or some kind of movement in negotiations that would likely influence any decision on strike action.
