Goderich hospital making plans for new C-T Scanner

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation's  "All In - For Your Health"  campaign to raise $3.5 million was a huge success.

Foundation Executive Director Shannon LaHay explains the campaign was to replace the CT scanner at the Goderich hospital and to refurbish the mental health and addiction unit.

In just over nine months, they were able to raise over $4.5 million.

"When we established the campaign, we knew the C-T scanner was a fixed cost at about $1.5 million," said LaHay. "So the additional two million that we set out to raise we knew would make some initial high impact changes in the mental health and addictions unit, but we also knew that it wouldn't cover everything that we needed to do there."

LaHay said there will always be more to do there, but the additional money will allow them to make a much bigger impact than they initially thought they could.
