Fatal collision results in charges

A motorist faces charges after a fatal single-vehicle crash. South Bruce OPP report the collision occurred at 6:19 pm on July 27th on Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township. Officers arrived with members of the Lucknow Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedics to find the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree before stopping.

There were 2 occupants in the vehicle. The driver received minor injuries and the passenger was pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, the driver has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act. Patrick Alton, 23-years-old, of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township, was charged with Careless Driving causing Death. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2020, to answer to the charge.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
