Pregnant woman taken to hospital after crash

One driver has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in Owen Sound that sent a pregnant woman to hospital.

The Owen Sound Police Service said on Thursday shortly before 3:30 p.m., a 2014 black Mazda proceeded south through the intersection of 8th Street East and 4th Avenue East, colliding with an eastbound 2011 brown Honda.

The driver of the Honda, who is pregnant, was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. Her current condition has not been made available.

The driver of the Mazda is now charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
