United Way Perth Huron addressing domestic violence

The United Way Perth Huron is working to address domestic violence.

Statistics show one in four Canadian women experience violence in their lifetime.

In 2018, United Way helped 2,780 women and children receive emergency shelter and counselling in Perth and Huron.

Domestic violence creates long-term repercussions for victims and families. It negatively impacts people’s physical and mental well-being and can even push families toward poverty.

Young children exposed to domestic violence are much more likely to become abusers themselves.
