Local syrup producers gather Saturday

Saugeen Conservation is hosting the Annual Information Day of the local chapter of the Ontario Maple Syrup Producer’s Association on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend the information day at the Conservation Authority's administrative office in Formosa.

This informative day will include a range of guest speakers featuring topics such as Buddy Sap Research, Tree Risk in the Sugarbush, and Dealer Demonstrations,

There will also be a Maple Industry Update, Local Maple Events, information on the First Tapping Ceremony for 2020, maple syrup displays, and research materials.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 9:30 am. The cost is $16 and includes a full lunch. Please register by contacting President Nick Bereznick at nickbereznick@gmail.com or phone 519-377-3873.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
