Stunt driving increases on the Bruce Peninsula

A report from the Grey Bruce OPP detachment shows a spike in stunt driving on Highway 6 between Tobermory and Wiarton.

In 2018, 130 drivers were charged on Highway 6, from Wiarton to Tobermory, with stunt driving, 50 km/h or more over the posted speed limit. In 2019, 191 drivers were charged on the same stretch of roadway, a 46 per cent increase over the previous year.

Throughout the OPP Grey Bruce Detachment area, a total of 236 drivers were charged with stunt driving in all of 2019.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
