Owen Sound police charge a man with trafficking fentanyl

A 25-year-old Owen Sound man is accused of trafficking purple fentanyl.

Owen Sound police said they concluded a drug trafficking investigation which resulted in the arrest of the man late Thursday morning. He was taken into custody on Alpha Street.

Police said officers seized $2,500 worth of purple fentanyl and other items used in the drug trade.

The man is charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and he will remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
