80 cats taken from one home

The Guelph Humane Society took in approximately 80 cats from a single home.

The Humane Society said it felt the need to step up as an organization to help the cats at 500 Wellington St. W in Guelph.

GHS will be doing wellness checks, vaccines, and housing them either at the humane society or with fosters, then scheduling spay or neuters for all the animals.

The community is being called on to help cover the costs of the care for the cats, with today alone expected to total about $20,000.

There will be ongoing needs as well such as emergency medical care, proper housing, socialization, and veterinary care.
