Charges after disturbance at Exeter hospital

An Exeter resident remains in custody following a disturbance at a hospital in Exeter last week.

At approximately 4:47 a.m. on January 16, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to reports of an out of control person in the emergency department at the hospital on Huron Street West.

The irate man had smashed several objects and a window causing considerable damage. In addition to his yelling and screaming, he also activated a fire alarm on-site.

The accused was also found to be in possession of a decorative metal star that was stolen from a nearby residence.

Officers were able to take a man into custody.

A 33-year-old man is facing a number of charges including theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, causing a disturbance, false alarm of fire and failing to comply with a probation order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 27.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
