Owen Sound set to update official plan

The City of Owen Sound is reviewing and updating its official plan to guide future land use development and growth.

The legal document sets out goals, objectives and policies for the City over a 20-year time horizon.

The update is a chance to assess challenges and opportunities associated with housing choice, environmental sustainability, climate change, transportation, land use and design.

The province requires the city to update its official plan to ensure conformity with applicable planning legislation.

The official plan affects everyone in Owen Sound and public involvement is encouraged.

The public engagement component of the official plan review will take place in March 2020.
