Wellington County municipalities explore IT efficiencies

A municipal modernization grant will support a consultant review of information technology services through the County of Wellington and six participating member municipalities.

The province will provide up to $141,000 for the project.

The project spearheaded by Township of Wellington North Council and staff will involve the County of Wellington, Town of Minto, Township of Mapleton, Township of Centre Wellington, Township of Guelph/Eramosa and Township of Puslinch

Last fall, the County of Wellington and its seven-member municipalities participated in an Operational Service Efficiency Review in response to the Government of Ontario’s Municipal Modernization Grant.

KPMG identified 20 potential efficiency opportunities. One of those opportunities was to explore common information technology (IT) systems and resources across the county and its member municipalities.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
