Elvis Stojko to appear at Durham Skating Club 50th Anniversary Celebration

The Durham Skating Club will have a special guest when they celebrate their 50th anniversary in March.

Two-time Olympic Medalist Elvis Stojko will attend the showcase, and following a performance by club members, Stojko will do a guest skate for those in attendance.

Skating Club Treasurer Jennifer Swindlehurst said she hopes Stojko inspires the young skaters, and "serve as a role model for our male skaters, and show them figure skating is worth pursuing."

Stojko will also stay after his performance for a meet-and-greet, and to sign autographs.

The show begins at 4:30 p.m. on March 8, ticket information can be found on the Durham Skating Club Facebook page.
