Minto parkette could get a reprieve

The much-loved Beehive roadside parkette located between Harriston and Teviotdale on County Road 109 may get a last-minute reprieve.

Minto council earlier decided to sell the park after it was repeatedly vandalized, including one RVer dumping raw sewage.

But a group of local citizens is opposed to the sale, saying the park is a historic site, marking the location of the Beehive School, one of the first schools built in the municipality.

Council sent the issue to its Parks Committee for reconsideration at its March meeting.
