Huron County makes changes to sale of the Clinton health and library complex

Huron County council has approved some changes in the sale of the county's Health and Library Complex to the new Huron Perth Public Health.

“Initially, when it was brought forward, the sense was that the health unit was interested in only the sale of the building," C-A-O Meighan Wark explained. "But through negotiations they indicated that they were interested in purchasing the land underneath the building.”

Wark adds the building is located on what is called the Clinton campus and so it's surrounded by County of Huron land.

"Regardless of whether or not the land went along with the building, it was going to be complicated."

County council approved the changes at this week's council meeting and they're now making the necessary changes to allow the sale to proceed.
