Hanover man charged with child luring

Perth County OPP officers have made an arrest in a child luring investigation that began last October when a young person received communication via social media for a sexual purpose.

On February 10, 2020, the investigation resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Hanover. The accused is charged with luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunications.

The accused, whose identity is subject to a publication ban, is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on March 9, 2020.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
