Stratford police are looking for suspects involved in a home invasion robbery in St. Marys.
Police responded to a home on James Street North Monday, February 10, 2019, at about 9:30 p.m.
Police investigators found that two men confronted the homeowner on the doorstep, then forced their way inside. One of the men threatened the victim with a weapon and demanded money. A second man ransacked the home and took items out to a waiting vehicle.
Both men were wearing black, and one had a balaclava over his face. They were both described as thin. The suspect vehicle is described as a white dual-cab pick-up truck.
Stratford police warn people to be vigilant when any stranger arrives at their home.
A similar attempted home invasion on Mount Carmel drive near Huron Park was averted in the early morning hours on Monday. The homeowners told police three men confronted them on their doorstep and tried to force their way in, demanding money but another family member was able to call 911. The suspects fled.
All of the suspects are believed to be male. Two were wearing all black with hooded sweatshirts, gloves and face coverings. The third is over six feet tall and was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with his face covered.
