Thompson announces $135k grants for local museums

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced over $135,000 in grants for two local museums.

The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is getting $71, 830 and the Huron County Museum and History Gaol is getting $63,226.

"These two museums, and their staff, do an incredible job of not only preserving history but also presenting the amazing stories of our ancestors and settlers in the region," said Thompson in a release.

The money was made available through the province's Community Museum Operating Grant.

It provides funding to cover things like staff salaries, museum maintenance , building and preserving collections, exhibitions and educational programs.

The announcement was made as part of Ontario Heritage Week which runs from February 17th to 23rd.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
