Local county working towards updating agreements between municipalities

Huron County's Chief of Emergency Services updated county council on the status of its four cross-border billing agreements with neighbouring municipalities at this week's council meeting.

Jeff Horseman explains the current agreements expire at the end of 2021.

“We were asked to give council an update on where we were with the current agreements, and I've given them the update and we'll be looking at some further direction on what their intentions are.”

Horseman told council two of the agreements are active and on-going.

The municipalities have agreed to pay each other as required under the agreements. We also have a couple of other agreements that are in place but we have not been able to reconcile the data.”
