Saugeen Shores tentatively approves budget

The Town of Saugeen Shores Committee of Whole has tentatively approved the 2020 budget with a blended tax rate increase of three per cent between the municipality, Bruce County, and the school board.

The increase of $109.07 per average household assessed at $320,000 will maintain service levels, while building capacity for future projects through contributions to the Legacy Fund.

“Our growing community requires increased funding towards services and infrastructure to keep service levels consistent,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “Saugeen Shores still sits at a low property tax rate, however, compared to other similar-sized communities across the province.”
