Saugeen Shores police adding more RIDE stops

Impaired driving-related offences continue to be a problem in 2020, Saugeen Shores police.

So far this year officers have investigated 10 incidents, resulting in six arrests and 11 impaired related charges.

Three of the incidents involved crashes.

Saugeen Shores Police is now increasing RIDE programs to act as a visible deterrent to impaired driving and to catch impaired drivers.

So far this year our officers have conducted 28 separate RIDE lanes.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
