One airlifted to hospital after collision involving cattle truck

One person has been seriously injured after an SUV collided with a loaded cattle truck in the Township of Mapleton.

The Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews responded after the two vehicles collided on Wellington Road 12 on Friday at around 4 p.m.

The driver of the SUV has been airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious, life-altering injuries. OPP reported on March 4 that a 35-year-old London resident remains in life-threatening condition

The driver of the cattle truck and the cattle were uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and the road is expected to remain closed until further notice.
