Visits at Bruce County long term care homes suspended

Under the direction of David Williams, Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health, visiting to Long Term Care Homes in Ontario will stop today except for compassionate reasons. Both Bruce County Long Term Care Homes Brucelea Haven and Gateway Haven have implemented this action.

Admissions to the Homes are continuing with screening protocols in place to ensure the health of residents. Admissions for failed screening may be denied.

The health and well-being of Bruce County residents is always our number one priority. Staff continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will provide updates as necessary. In addition, Bruce County’s emergency management practices are in place.

Currently, the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit reports no cases in the Grey Bruce region, but the public is encouraged to stay up to date at www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca.

The County recommends that the public follow the proper hygiene protocols outlined by the Provincial Medical Officer of Health: https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novel-coronavirus.
