UPDATE: Highway 86 now open

Updated as of 1:30 p.m.

Huron County Road 86 has re-opened to traffic after it was closed for several hours Thursday morning due to a head-on collision.

At 6:43 a.m., officers responded alongside Howick Fire Department and Huron County Emergency Medical Services, arriving at the crash just west of 86 Auto and Metal Recyclers Inc. heading toward Wingham. A dump truck and two passenger vehicles were involved.

Three occupants of the passenger vehicles were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One of the involved drivers was taken to a London hospital with life-threatening injuries but has since been upgraded to serious injuries.

Another passenger was taken to a London hospital with life-altering injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
