Splash pad work in Bayfield put on hold

The Municipality of Bluewater has indefinitely postponed the reconstruction of the splash pad in Clan Gregor Square in Bayfield and closed all of its parks and campgrounds until further notice.

Mayor Paul Klopp said with social distancing in effect the reconstruction of the splash wasn't urgent, so the work could hardly be considered an essential project.

Klopp said the project will be delayed until they get more direction from the province.

As for campgrounds, notices have been sent out.

"We had the staff send out to all our campgrounds notices with what they're supposed to do and of course even their association which they all belong to, have all been told, so we're echoing and following those rules," said Klopp.
