Missing person found thanks to Project Lifesaver

A recently reported missing person has been located according to Wellington County OPP.

The person, who suffers from dementia, was reported missing in the early morning hours of April 29, and was located just after 4am today in a parking lot, unable to get up.

They were transported to hospital as a precaution, but have since been returned home in Wellington North Township.

They were found using Project Lifesaver Guelph Wellington, which assists caregivers and responds to the challenges of keeping loved ones safe when they wander, and has a 100% find rate.

Participants wear a battery-operated bracelet that sends an FM radio signal 24 hours per day and volunteers from Victim Services Wellington visit each client once a month to change the battery.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
